A glittering professional's career can conceal some of the saddest stories. Lolo Jones, who took home the USA as well as the World Championships for hurdle events in 2013, only achieved this feat through a great deal of hard work and a lot of patience. Jones was the sole child in a family of five, and grew up in a very poor environment. Jones' mother moved constantly and even lived in the basement of the church. Jones had a nomadic and mobile life until the time she entered the high school system, was required to move to a new school every year. When she attended Theodore Roosevelt High School Jones was separated from her mother to pursue her interests in the track and field events. Jones was part of four families during her time at high school, in order to learn at one location. Jones was a cellist with the school's orchestra as well as recipient of the Gatorade the track and field award for athlete of the Year earned her an award called the Gatorade Iowa Athlete Award towards the close of high school. Jones began her career in college as one the best hurdlers. She became the winner of the 100-meter hurdles at the NCAA Track & Field Championship. In addition, she was one of the participants of the runner-up team for the relay race of 100 meters. Jones is a champion of indoor hurdles at the NCAA championships in 2003 as well as 2004. Jones is training since 2005 when she finished her college studies. In 2005 she was winning the Torino Memorial race, in 2006, she won in the Heusden and Ostrava athletes.

The family was raised and born within Cape Town South Africa Brandt moved with her family to Auckland New Zealand in her late teens. Brandt's talent was recognized in Auckland by local casting director Brandt. She took the part of Naevia for the Starz show Spartacus Blood and Sand and Spartacus Gods of the Arena. Mazikeen appeared as the Vertigo/DC comics fans' favorite Mazikeen in Netflix's Lucifer that ran for six seasons. Forbes named Lucifer as their top most watched show to binge watch in 2021. Brandt's next appearance is in the six-episode Walking Dead spin-off in 2024 with Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurrira. Her other Netflix projects include the animated comedy Captain Fall starring Jason Ritter Anthony Carrigan, Chris Meloni. This will be aired in July 2023. Lesley Ann Brandt was born on the 2nd of December in Cape Town, South African. She is a talented New Zealander actor. Lesley Brandt along with the other members of her family moved into Auckland New Zealand, in 1999. In Auckland she started her career as a salesperson, and then be promoted to the position of IT manager consultant. After several modeling assignments, Lesley appeared in many commercials. She graduated in 2008 and completed her studies in acting. Then, in 2009 she continued her studies by using the Meisner method of study. Lesley's first major acting gig was on the New Zealand TV show Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt made a guest appearance in New Zealand's TV series Shortland Street in the role of a supporting actor. In the following season, she was in the Sci-fi film This Is Not My Life that is based upon anecdotal Waimoana. Lesley Brandt played Naevia in the series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. The character was later reprised as the role in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.
