Yael Stone, born in Australia, and who moved to New York City in 2013 in the film, played Lorna Mello as a prisoner in Orange Is the New Black. Yael Stone was a graduate of NIDA. From a young age, Yael has been lucky to be able to collaborate with some of Australia's top storytellers, stars of performance and visionaries behind the scenes in films TV, theatre, and film. Yael is an internationally acclaimed actor in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael has made New York City her home after she was a part of the Brooklyn Academy of Music produced this critically-acclaimed show. Yael established The Cannery with her co-founders. It is located in The Cannery, a Bushwick Brooklyn studio They encourage new, artistic writings, and are a source of inspiration for new ideas.
